Aligning and Mutualizing Nonprofit Open Access Publishing Services Internationally
Project Aim
The ALMASI project aims to develop a nonprofit, high-quality, and sustainable scholarly communication ecosystem across Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
ALMASI focuses on understanding the nonprofit Open Access (OA) publishing landscape in the target regions and co-designing frameworks for quality standards, training, and policy development to ensure the long-term sustainability of Diamond OA, a model where neither authors nor readers pay fees.
Project Outputs
ALMASI runs from 2024 to 2027 and will produce a series of key outputs, including a comprehensive mapping of nonprofit OA publishing services in Africa, Latin America, and Europe, and policy recommendations and advocacy materials to support nonprofit OA publishing.
All outputs will be openly accessible and available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese to reflect the multilingual scope of the project.
