ESF (European Science Foundation) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation committed to advancing high-quality research across Europe and beyond since 1974. With established records in all disciplines, ESF offers expert, independent management and support throughout the entire research lifecycle—from conception and implementation to evaluation, sustainability, and impact. With expertise across all disciplines, ESF engages in four lines of action:

Research assessment and grant evaluation: with up to 5000 proposals assessed per year, ESF provides rigorous and independent assessments for research funding and talent selection.
Managing research funding programmes, supporting the design, implementation, distribution and monitoring of research funding.
Hosting and supporting scientific structures, enabling dynamic scientific collaborations by providing a comprehensive operational base, with dedicated support in administration, finance, operations, and communication.
Managing and supporting EU-funded projects: leveraging its expertise, ESF strengthens the impact of projects and programmes by managing, coordinating, communicating, and actively participating in project proposals and execution.
