Piloting open and responsible Activities and Trainings Towards the Enhancement of Researchers Networks
PATTERN's general aim is to promote the practice of Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (Open RRI) by developing and piloting training activities for researchers at all stages of their careers.
These activities will strengthen their transferable skills, empowering Higher Education Institutions and research organizations to embrace a transformative process. This process will improve the excellence of the science conducted, the capacity within the European Research Area (ERA) to tackle societal challenges and the interaction between science and society.

ESF’s expertise
ESF is a thematic leader for gender, non-discrimination and inclusion in research training. ESF also leads a work package related to Policy recommendations to authorities and institutions responsible for researchers’ training. This will include:
- Mapping and analysis of initiatives and policies in Open Science and Open Responsible Research and Innovation
- Designing policy recommendations for authorities and institutions related to research training
- Developing participatory methods, such as Open Studios
